I’m Supposed to Be at the Pool

DaGoddess @ 11:00

I don’t know if I’ll actually be at pool therapy as scheduled (the insurance company is screwing with providing me transportation). But, in case I am, I thought I’d have a post ready to go so that the blog wouldn’t fall into some stagnant cess pool of inactivity.

Here’s a re-edit of one of my favorite Little Dude photos. (Originally taken in August 2008)

Little Dude's Eyes

In addition to all the photography stuff I’ve been working on, I’ve been to the doctor and had a therapy eval. Today is the day I’m supposed to start pool therapy, but there’s no real sense in going if I have to drive because any benefit I get will be erased getting into the car and driving afterward. The insurance company is messing with me and it’s rather disconcerting. The success of my recovery is largely dependent upon therapy. On one hand, I want to go because I LOVE pool therapy. But on the other, I just can’t see undoing all the good by driving afterwards. I’ve been trying for weeks to get alternate transportation and they’re throwing obstacle after obstacle in my way. Typical of them. Honestly, I don’t think they want to have to do anything more for me. That attitude boggles the mind.

Anyhow, in case I’m not here, I thought I’d share a little something that I’ve been playing with off and on for a few days in between paperwork and phone calls. I’ve always loved this photo and it makes me happy to return to it time and time again. I’m thinking I might enter it in the fair. Sigh.

I’m so glad I have this funny young person in my life. He’s such a nut sometimes. Yesterday he came home (after being at his dad’s), bouncy and silly, “hi Mom! I’m weird, I’m weird! Now that you know, can I go out to play?” Shortly thereafter, he came back to ask if he and his friend could walk down to Walmart together. The rain had stopped and the boys were going as a team, so I said yes. When he returned he said, “Happy late Valentine’s day!” and handed me some M&Ms. Then he raced out of the house again to go play with the new Star Wars toy he bought. For dinner, he said he wanted pizza and we tried a new place nearby that makes Chicago-style pizza. It was good, but he could only get one piece down before he declared himself stuffed. It was very filling and we still have a lot of pizza to eat over the next few days.

You know, sometimes I think if it weren’t for LD, I’d go crazy.
