The Cat

Da Goddess @ 06:37

Fletch has been a lovely boy lately, allowing me to sleep a bit longer and cuddling up next to me. It’s so sweet and comforting to have him near. He’s my reason for getting up each morning and it’s good to have something to do each day so I don’t curl up and hide away from the world. Because, honestly, I would very much like to hide from everyone and everything when I’m hurting, which is a constant state of being these days.

Fletch is my greatest source of comfort. He’s always here to make me smile, to calm my nerves, to keep my mind working as I look for ways to challenge him (I don’t just hand him treats, I make him earn them).

I don’t know what I’d do without this goofy little guy. I adore everything about this nut.

  1. Cats are angels sent from Heaven to make us happy… and Fletch is one of the best. <3

  2. Pets of all kinds are angels. We don’t deserve them. We don’t deserve their unconditional love. But I’ll take it! I work hard to keep Fletch (or any other pet I’ve ever had) healthy and happy. It’s my duty as his guardian. Other than my kids and friends and family, he’s probably the greatest blessing in my life. Yeah, I might complain when I’m cleaning up the fourth pile of barf when he’s not doing well (after being overfed by someone who isn’t me, or fed something really not meant for cats by someone who isn’t me), but it’s a small price to pay for his dearness.

I will fight anyone who tries to separate us. I will fight to the near-death (I’m not stupid, I know my limits and if I’m dead then I’m definitely not helping anyone or anything). I just hope we find a new place for the two of us soon. My buddy and I need to stick together!

  3. I agree; you totally need to be together! What’s that saying… ‘the outside of a dog is good for the inside of a man’? (Of course I can’t find it now) Well, it ought to include cats!

  4. I hadn’t heard that one, but I agree!
