Holding an Ice Bag to my Head

Da Goddess @ 23:19

Yes, I am holding an ice bag to my head in hopes that whatever small animal that crawled into my left maxillary sinus would get too cold and evacuate said space. I am miserable. The ice helps only a bit. The cough and cold medicine helps some. Positioning helps on occasion. Mostly, the hammer I’m about to attack my face with seems to have more promise than anything else in ridding me of this God-awful pain.

In the meantime, there’s another post about to appear that should keep you busy for 45 seconds. After that, you should probably start sending money and flowers to cover my funeral expenses.

Thank you.

It’s been lovely.

Except for the sinus stuff.

  1. Oh, no! :(

Feel better! Hate when the sinuses turn on us… and now of course I’m thinking “when sinus attack; film at 11:00!”

  2. Yeah, film of the stuff coming out would be quite disturbing for viewers.

At least I’m bouncing back quicker from this one. Fingers crossed!

  3. Yep, spring is coming pretty quick around here. None too soon, unfortunately that means the brutally hot summer (around here) is coming too.

  4. I dunno, lady. When I have those issues, ‘cuz in Louisiana we have pollen particles the size of ping-pong balls, I go the other direction and apply moist heat to the offending area.

  5. As you know, I too am a fellow sinus sufferer. I’ve tried all the remedies…even surgery, many moons ago. Nothing ever really works.

But! This last episode I had, I tried drinking apple cider vinegar (diluted with water, it’s not too bad)…and I swear, it cleared me up. I especially made a point of drinking a glass before bed…about a tablespoon or so of the vinegar to a cup of water. But you can sip on it all day too. And some people put it in hot water with a little honey, like having tea. Which ever suits your taste.

Now, it may be all in my head (ha!), but I think it really did help. If you try it, let me know what you think. It may just be an “Old Wives Tale,” but even if it just made me think I felt better…I’ll take it!

(I bought unpasteurized unfiltered and kept it in the fridge after opened.)

  6. Hmmm, vinegar. I think I’ll keep up with the nasal saline sprays, the drinking of lots of fluids, the cool and warm compresses, and maybe try the vinegar if it comes back again within the next two weeks.

THankfully, I bounced back okay again. I just don’t like having to readjust every single time the weather changes and the pollens burst out into the world. Can’t avoid it, but sort of wish I could.

    lol
