Wondering Where They Are
Hoopty Mike, Cheyenne, Skits, Quinn, Melly, Meesh, Sugarmama, Mommie Joie, Sour Bob, Madman, Mal, Right Wing Texan, Majik Marc, Marc from Quit That, JB, Texas Mike, Anton, and more…I wonder where they are now.
Back in the early days of blogging, back in 2002 and 2003, there was this thing going on…and there were people I adored.
Now, they’re just [mostly] ghosts of memories. I know I can track down one of the above, and have done so on occasion (usually for an annual howdy-do sort of conversation, just to touch base), but I wonder where the rest are, what they’re doing, what’s changed, what hasn’t, etc.
There are moments when I close my eyes and remember conversations, comments, laughter, the occasional phone calls, so many things…and then it’s just all gone. Ephemera.
If any of you are still around and happen to see this, say hi! Y’all know who you are, even if I didn’t list you by name. You know who you are and what fun we shared. I miss you. I just want to know you’re still out there being you in whatever capacity of your specialness that’s part of you. Leave me a comment and let me know you’re around.
Hey…I’m still here! But yeah, I wonder where they went too. I have yet another handful of bloggers that I’ve lost touch with also. You have been one of the few that I’ve managed to stick to all these years. You’ve always been a constant…the thread that holds so many of our “group” together. It’s been an interesting ride. I do hope that maybe some of those you mentioned will pop in and say hi. It would be great to know what’s going on with them now.

See? You’re a constant for me, too! I know you’re there and I have your email…we stay in touch. All these others? WOW! It seems like so long ago (and it was!) but it also seems like “just yesterday”, you know?

I remember some of those people! There are a lot of people that blogged in the early 2000’s that have faded away, much like most of the podcasters that did podcasting back in 2004/2005 have faded too… guess it’s the cycle/interest thing. I know I don’t blog as much as I used to, but i stll try to hit the old blogger friends – some are still linked off my site too… JodiVerse was one that I like to check to read her snarkyness, good to see that she’s still blogging too… Very glad to see Joanie is blogging too – The blogoverse wouldn’t be the same without her…

Jodi blogs less and less. I stopped checking her site. Easier to keep up with her on FB, you know?
I do miss the old days very much at times. Some of the people I miss more than others, of course. Some I wish would have never shown up. Oh well. The past is a very odd place, isn’t it?
