Don’t Ask Me ’bout the Shape I’m In

DaGoddess @ 20:07

It’s been a rough past week. Thank God for Mr. Lovett.

Part of my therapy (mental health sort…you know, to distract me from the physical pain) included trying to find music I’ve always loved. Some people go for comfort foods; I go for music. Lyle Lovett was a part of it, obviously. He’s amply covered. But do you know how difficult it is to find a copy of The Essential Foster & Lloyd? Seriously, I loved these guys. And I like Radney Foster well enough as a solo artist, but I really wanted to find that particular CD. Sigh. Oh well. I’ve made due with Lala.com for the most part. You can find all sorts of interesting stuff on there! Sometimes, though, you have to dig deep to get to it (searching for “Foster and Lloyd” doesn’t yield anything, but searching for the album…yeah).

Other fantastic music that made me feel less ragged: The Mavericks Gold and Rodney Crowell Small Worlds: The Crowell Collection 1978-1995. Freddy Fender and the Texas Tornados also made an appearance.

Wish me luck on getting in to see a doctor this week. Pray that the insurance company stops playing games (they’re so good at it). Okay, back to bed for me.

  1. Sorry to hear you’re in so much pain, thinking happy Vicodin thoughts for you. And soothing music.

And I swear, Lyle Lovett earns my award for “Ugliest Performer with Greatest Voice”. I especially liked his collaberation with Bonnie Raitt a few years back.
