Quick Post Now, Longer Later

DaGoddess @ 23:56

Sorry to be calling in sick this week. (Thanks for covering today, Pam!)

I saw my doc on Tuesday and he changed some meds around, which have left me feeling out of sorts in all the worst ways. I’m sleeping 10+ hours on these things. I mean, I did say I wasn’t sleeping well and this is what I get for opening my big fat mouth.

Also, regarding my daughter: she’s doing pretty well. She got home Monday afternoon and is safely tucked in with my sister watching over her. Mo’s out of school for at least this week and probably part of next. She sounded better today than she has since she got hurt. Each day brings a little more good health her way, which is all we could hope for and more.

Little Dude is with his dad while I get used to the meds. Miss having him around, but he’s safe and that’s what matters.

As for me, I’m off to take my next dose and continue adjusting.

Plus, I have to mourn Craig Ferguson’s Christmas wedding.

  1. As long as everyone is either healthy or on the mend, well, that’s all we can ask for…

I was watching House last night because basically, that’s the only thing on tv, right? I’m addicted. Anyway, he said that most everyone has at least three things wrong with them.

Frankly, I’m happy not knowing what three things are wrong with me.

  2. I’m not even going to ask who Craig Ferguson is, since I’m hopelessly out of sync with popular culture, and indeed most people who are vertical and breathing. I have sometimes theorized that I’m trapped in an alternate timeline that only bisects the standard one intermittently at random intervals. However, given that, I am glad to hear that everything is going as well as can be expected.

  4. Every time I go to the doctor to get one thing fixed, something else goes wrong with me ;)

Sleep is a great cure for everything. Let’s just all get better soon, three things or ten

  6. Pam, just three? LOL

Jan, Craig? You don’t know Craig? Oh no. I will change that soon.

Kaknockers, he’s a beast for hurting us so deeply. ;)

    Lloyd, zzzzz…zzzz…zzz that’s me!

Kimberley, a pox on your house for bringing Lawrence Welk into the equation. (just kidding — I have many good LW memories)

  7. Craig got married?!! Nooooo!!!! He’s such a hottie!

I hope you get your meds worked out soon. I always have a trouble when I start new meds or change dosage. Ack. Feel better soon! ((Hugs!!))

  8. Yeah, he married some 26 year old. the bastard. lol

The meds: It’s just Flexeril and shouldn’t be doing this to me! But I suppose because it’s combined with the Percocet, it’s hitting me harder than when I took it previously. I’ve been sleeping about 10 hours on this stuff and I wake up hurting more than when I went to bed (probably because I’ve missed a couple doses of the Percocet).

    Sigh.

    It’s taking too long.

    sigh…

  9. Glad to hear your daughter’s recovering. Sorry to hear you are STILL struggling with pain, meds, docs, BLECH! We need to sprinkle you with some fast healing fairy dust so you can run with the big dogs again! C’mon Girl! Be well! (throwing sparkly, fairy dust at the monitor and wishing my hardest)

  10. What really got me was Amrix, which is the time-released version of Flexeril. You’re supposed to take it 3 hours before you go to bed because its highest level is supposed to be released while you’re sleeping, then it tapers off for when you awaken. Well, for some reason, when I’d take it, I was out of it and sleepy well into the next day.

I wasn’t thinking Lawrence Welk, I was thinking of the sorta do-wop version from the 50’s.

  11. Kimberley, I realized which song you meant after I finished hitting enter. Rather than erase my mistake, I simply fell asleep and forgot all about it.

Amrix — I’ll have to remember to avoid it. I’m supposed to take the Flexeril three times a day. I can barely handle one. I’ve taken to cutting this dose in half and taking it about four hours before I go to bed and I’m still struggling. Not as much as before, but just enough that if I answer the phone or anything before I’m really awake, I have to scroll through incoming calls, call those numbers back, and have the same conversation all over again.

Good news, though — I’m perking up quicker and it’s easier to get moving once I’m awake. Don’t have that all day hangover anymore.

In fact, I’ve even scheduled a shoot for tomorrow, so that’s a pretty big deal! (Of course, I’ve set the alarm clock for three hours before I need to be ready, but that’s another story.)

  12. Good Lord woman! Bless your heart.

You’re fighting yours AND your daughter’s health battles. Moms are just that way. Hope the shot helps.

  13. Whoops, I read that wrong…you said ‘shoot’, not shot. Better go put my glasses on.
