Helpful Hint #894291

To ensure that your New Year starts off well, watch "Born To Run" with Richard Grieco> Everything after that will seem wonderful.

Other things that should disappear or be fixed in 2005:

No cell phones in restrooms. Just because you have the technology doesn't mean you have to use it EVERYWHERE.

Those ribbon magnets on cars - they need to be placed on the vehicle so that the top of the ribbon is up....not put on sideways so that mulletheads can read them.

My computer. I will gladly take advice/donations on what kind of replacement I should get.

Everyone should have DSL or cable modems. There is no reason for dialup anymore.

Anyone wearing spandex clothing in public - if you're not running a marathon or riding a bike, leave the clingy-show-every-dimple-and-pubic-hair clothes at home.

Paris Hilton, Anna Nicole, Christina, Britney, Michael Jackson, Nick and Jessica. You can all retire to obscurity now.

What would fix this year?

Can we add Michael Moore to that list?

If you need a computer replacement, might I suggest anything with a AMD 3000+ processor. I got one for the wife on clearance for $350 loaded. It's a HP at that. Check the clearance sales at Office Depot, where I got hers.

Best bang for the buck out there.

let's add "wingnut blogtrolls" to the "go away forever" list, too...

People who can't accept the 2004 elections (or the 2000 election for that matter).

On my blog my vote went for any movie in which George Clooney "stars."

I've been wondering about the "sideways ribbons." They look much like the Christian "alpha-fish" one often sees. Coincidence? Conspiracy? You decide.

Just stopping by to wish you a happy new year Joanie! Best wishes for health, happiness and prosperity in 2005. See ya next year! :-)

For me, personally? Getting thru the ongoing move without any further fubars. Once we've moved then DSL makes sense. Providers around here will not move an accaount; you get hurt buying DSL and moving. The fact that each of our dialup lines give at least a 49k connection helps.

As for Spandex clothing, I will not hesitate to wear my Spandex glove in public when the old thumbsprain acts up.

Happy New Year Joanie!

I second adding Michael Moore to that list and I'm tired of hearing all about how the country is red and blue. Oh wait, don't get me started.....have a good one!

What would fix this year?

My kidneys.

Dumb-ass San Diego drivers in the rain.

Barking moonbats....with a clue bat.

(If I had the where-withall) Your computer.

Happy 2005 DG!!

How about if I just sing Born to Run?

In the day we sweat it out on the streets of a runaway American Dream

At night we ride through mansions of glory on suicide machines

Say...how's your car these days? :)

My hosting provider. Should be back up and running in a few days now.

Computerwise: Dell, definitely. We've bought both their new and refurbished desktop and notebook PC's and are consistently thrilled with their performance and their bang for the buck. The refurbished ones are often GREAT deals, and they have a full warranty.

I'd be first in line to do away with dialup but I live out in the boonies (only 3 miles from town)according to the cable and phone czars. I could accept the wait, one to three years, but the main fiber feed for the cable and phone run within 500 feet of my house and less than a mile down the road is where the cable co. stopped their node installation last summer. High speed for me is 56k. :-(

"Best of" lists

Fake award shows

Gangsta anything.
Because you are not "Thug" just cause you say so.

Mexican food at burger shacks.
Fried chicken at anywhere but KFC.

1 ply toilet paper. We have evolved beyond that, people!

OK it appears as if I have posted my Computer Suggestion in your previous comments. Whoops.

Posted by: Tio Jaime at January 3, 2005 08:30 AM

might I suggest anything with a AMD 3000+ processor.

Better yet, I'd recommend getting an Athlon 64. When the 64bit windows comes out, you'll be able to take advantage of the 64bitness (which does give a speed boost to plenty of things.. more cpu registers which are twice as wide are avaialble) and things will (hopefully) be going more 64bit in the near future anyway.

Of course, I'm a unix geek that only uses windows for games, and runs his machines with linux most of the time. But I've had an opteron box for well over a year now, and even in 32bit mode it's always been wicked fast.

Isn't it funny...when I was a very young 20-soemthing, Richard Grieco could do it for me. Now, he just looks tired and hungover, hoping to capitalize on the last shreds of his looks. What a shame.
