~ My kids are the best! Aren't they precious? Looking wonderful on Thanksgiving if I do say so myself.
~I had to scrape ice off the windows of my car this morning. It was a bit nippy. Then, because one of local sprinklers busted, water ran across the street and created a massive sheet of ice for some - not me! - to skid across.
~ Who names a kid Chester??? I mean, who looks at their baby and says, "awww....he's such a Chester!" - don't you think that sets a person up for big time failure? (The chip on his shoulder...tsk tsk.)
~ I was shorted a full day's pay on my last check. I now have a choice of paying the gas and electric bill and staying warm, or paying all of my rent. Hmmm.... (petsitting gig will take care of that.)
~ Teen suicide attempts are up in San Diego. "Successes" are down.
~ Eight more days until the Bonamassa Blowout!
~ I want a Butch Davis deal. $12 million and a "don't go away mad, just go away!" send off. Works for me. I can endure that sort of heartache. Easily.
~ Nightline's big story? Ken Jennings. I could handle being that kind of loser, too.
~ I'm iceberg lettuce, baby! You can eat to your heart's content and yet gain absolutely nothing in nutritional value. (And that doesn't mean anything remotely close to what you think it means.)
~ Don't mock me. I'll unleash the Polyphonic Spree on you if you even try.

Posted by: Ozguru at December 1, 2004 03:15 AMHow much for the little girl?
Posted by: Beloved Leader at December 1, 2004 04:56 AMWho would name a kid Chester? The same people who would name a kid Howard.
Enjoy.
Howard
Goddess...I've got one better than Chester.
During my highschool years in Florida, there was this poor family living in a trailer in our neighborhood. The father looked like the rather
angry, embittered type, and I'm guessing there was probably some abuse going on. He had the tremors like a heroine addict in bad need of a fix.
He and his wife had a son. Bright orange hair, extremely thick glasses, and hearing aids. Apparently there was something else wrong with him, because he rode the short bus to school.
His name?
Grover.
He was such a pitiful character, even the neighborhood bullies didn't pick on him.
And in the afternoons, my mom and I could hear his mother calling him from the woods:
"Grover! Grover!"
Poor kid. I often wonder what became of him.

Posted by: Thomas at December 1, 2004 08:20 AMBeautiful kids! Maybe they could go with us when we are in San Diego and you are taking us to the fab restaurant that you are choosing, but my hubby's credit card is paying for or if Kelly has her way, the zoo or Sea World. My daughter will be 16 by then and I know she'd love to meet your sweeties! I think the team will be staying in the Mira Mesa area, but not sure if they'll be playing at UCSD or a different field. Have a good day, Kitty
Posted by: k. Mason at December 1, 2004 11:31 AMBeautiful kids! You're going to have quite the heartbreakers in both departments.

Don't know for sure how it is where you live.. but so long as you send them something I don't think they are allowed to turn your utilities off during the winter months.. so I'd go with a slight risk of a chilly house vs. looking through the windows of a nice toasty warm home you can't get into :). Hope all works out!!
Posted by: LarryConley at December 1, 2004 12:44 PMYours are as precious as mine are. Aren't we both lucky?
Posted by: Mike at December 1, 2004 05:56 PMNow, those are two fine looking children. You are rightfully proud.
As for "Chester," I always had the same feeling about "Ralph." For a grownup, "Ralph" seems just fine, but how does one name a teeny weeny baby "Ralph?"
Posted by: Jim - Parkway Rest Stop at December 1, 2004 05:59 PMGreat picture!
Pigs Goats and Elephants are pretty reasonable in this department--call billing, tell them what the problem is, send them a partial payment & promise the rest with the next paycheck and usually they don't even charge you a fee. Your utility may also have a balanced payment plan, wherein you pay an equal amount all year long.
Why are suicide attempts up? Same social group? I think kid suicide behavior is catching.
Posted by: Liz at December 1, 2004 10:13 PMdude. Polyphonic Spree is hardcore punishment. that's just downright mean!
