200 vs 40

Protest

Dead Mom

There may have been 200 protesters out on the streets of San Diego on Saturday, but they were no match for Protest Warrior. Especially once the Marines showed up.

Photos and more of the story to follow.

Smash has some of my photos and a write up available now.

SixHertz shares a post about the day.

"Kerry won the election far and square. Bush tampered with the ballots. He's a liar and a cheat," declared the angry woman.

Her too bright, too pink rouge and lipstick were getting on my nerves. Okay, maybe it was more what she was saying than it was her makeup, no matter, her delusions required me to exercise extreme restraint. I wanted to laugh, scream, and maybe even throttle her.

"No, I'm pretty certain that Bush won the election, lady. Now, can you go over to your side of the street? We set up over here so we wouldn't have to listen to any of you."

"Kerry won! We have proof! The exit polls showed that he was the winner!"

I shook my head and had to step away, but not before telling her, "you know, exit polls don't mean diddly. In the 20 years that I've been voting, I've been approached once after I submitted my ballot. Once. In twenty years. It's not like there are people just hanging around outside of EVERY polling place, gathering information. I mean, listen, in an exit poll, everyone in America could walk out and claim they voted for Bozo the Clown and it still wouldn't make him president. Do you understand? Do you?"

Screaming at me, the woman could only respond with, "Bush cheated! He didn't win! He's a modern day Nazi like Hitler!"

I shook my head and walked away. I had to. She kept trying to engage people in her argument. She was shrill and her voice carried. She was looking to get us agitated. I wasn't going to let that happen. This is why we have marshalls. This is why we were across the street from "them."

The protesters had signs declaring the war illegal. Signs saying that only Congress can declare war. Um, I think they did. You know, they voted for the war before John Kerry tried to get them to vote against it.

The theatrics! Oh, the theatrics! Woman lying on the ground with a flag draped over her. (Too bad none of the little dogs that were nearby didn't relieve themselves on her.) The people sporting Bush masks and red hands. I asked one of the "Bush" people if the red hands came from masturbating too much. The face behind the mask turned bright red. Apparently they didn't find it as amusing as I did.

The harridan was still shrieking her way through her tirade in the background. "Don't you peopele want to be informed? How can you be led through such dark times by such a liar? And aren't you rude! Can you keep that camera out of my face?"

She had a voice as sweet as.....as sweet as.....as swee......never mind. My answer to her question about the camera was a firm NO. Sorry, hon. You don't like it, go away. Very simple.

More Protest Warriors were arriving.

"Don't listen to the crazy lady, folks! Maybe she'll go away if we don't feed her!" I warned.

From the other side of the street came a voice I recognized.

"Those people are just illegal." said the voice.

I felt like responding personally and bringing up the voice's recent arrest at the big Michael Moore gathering...but I didn't. I was being nice. Even though we disgust her. Yes, we disgusted her in the past because we were handing out flags. American flags. Oh, the horrors!

None of the protesters carried a single American flag. None of them.

We have issues. Many issues. I believe they have every right to express their opinions but I also consider them to be a form of walking graffiti. An unpleasant assault on the eye and difficult to eradicate. Hmm...kind of like cockroaches.

Anyhow, I do believe that protesters have the right to express themselves - I don't think I should have to pay for them to do so. Every one of their protest/marches requires the police to provide them with protection. They also make a mess - leaving it behind every time. If they're going to protest, they should have to pay for the clean up, don't you think?

You took a ton of pictures! I'm impressed. TioJaime and I were wondering which one you were--if you were the one trying to prop up a sign on the tree behind us.

Anyhow, we had a great time on Saturday--can you send those pictures to us? Thanks!

Great pix, especially when the Marines landed and took control of the situation!

Good for you all. You really do have quite a special collection of moonbats in California. New York City is no prize either when it comes to assholes, which is why I avoid both places. :-)

I just got word today from the Oregon PW chapter that they may be staging an event here in Eugene this weekend. I might be going to my first event! I'm so excited.
