Christopher Reeve shall walk again in heaven. Or maybe he'll fly. Of this, I'm certain.
Ken Caminiti, former Padre third baseman, left us today as well.
Godspeed.

.. Remember the Titans
The role seems to be dangerous... but Mr Reeve will always be Superman.. more what he did after he got hurt then any movie role.
Even though I've expected to hear about Christopher Reeve for a time now, it still shocked me when it actually happened. And as for Ken Caminiti--it's so sad--so much talent, so many mistakes.
Posted by: TW at October 11, 2004 07:32 AMBack in 1978, I had the honor to meet Christopher Reeve and the entire cast of Superman I. They filmed part of it in Gallup and I was staying at the same hotel. We had dinner together two nights and I got to help throw boulders off the cliff during the earthquake scene. I have never met a nicer, more gentle man, than Christopher Reeve. He was kind to everyone he met, never snubbing anyone. Such a tragic end to a wonderful life, but like you I'm sure he'll fly in heaven. Kitty

Posted by: becky at October 11, 2004 07:05 PMI hope that the inroads that Christopher Reeve and his foundation were making aren't thrown out with the bathwater now that he's gone. Needless to say, his death touched Robert and me significantly. Although I do have to wonder, with the cadre of nurses and medical assistants, how was his bedsore allowed to progress to the point it did? As a nurse, I'm hoping you can shed some light.
