The Old Women's Project is protesting "Bush's Empire Building On the Backs of Women" (In Iraq and Afghanistan, In Africa, In the U.S., In the World)
They want the U.S. to listen to women for a change. And INTELLIGENT conservative women have something to say about that.
This Saturday, October 9 at Noon
San Diego Federal Building
Front and Broadway
Bring signs that indicate how the women in Iraq and Afghanistan are now free to determine their own destinies, thanks to the efforts of the U.S.
We need a strong showing of women, but men and children are welcome to attend as well.
GOT FREEDOM? Thanks to George Bush and the U.S. Military, millions overseas do.NEW AND IMPROVED! Afghani and Iraqi women: Now with real voting power!
Who have you liberated lately?
Just a few of our signs. Can't wait! Gotta go irritate some liberals. Ta!
If you're in San Diego, stop by and say hi!

That being said, what happened?

Posted by: mlah at October 10, 2004 12:12 PMJoni- Mend my ways? Your link says I'm correct, though it does note that "authorities" have despaired of people getting it right. It's just another instance of prescriptive versus descriptive grammar. I had hoped the slash-note would tip people off that I wasn't too serious about this- I must work on my communication skills.
Anyway.
Aside from this incredibly minor point which has almost nothing to do with the topic at hand, how did it go on Saturday?
Posted by: Michael at October 10, 2004 03:21 PMIf I were local, I'd come in drag.
