Age Doesn't Matter

When it comes to politics, age doesn't matter.

An octogenarian with a left bent "caned" a Bush supporter.

Oct. 6, 2004 — A 62-year-old New York woman has filed a lawsuit against a 86-year-old paragon of political passion alleged to have hit her with a cane following a fight over George W. Bush election stickers, police said Tuesday.

The suit alleges "harrassment" and says the 86-year-old former university professor "struck" the 62-year-old with her walking stick because she took the election stickers to the woman's posh New York building.

The run-in took place Sunday at the door of a building on Central Park West.

The alleged victim told reporters she was delivering the Bush stickers to a friend when the alleged presidential detractor suggested she "get out of here with that trash."

She tore up one sticker and then hit the younger woman on the behind with her cane.

The alleged assailant told local media she had never struck her rival. "I didn't use my cane. We exchanged some words and pushed one another back and forth," the octagenarian said.

If this goes to trial, I'm betting the elderly liberal will claim senility.

Apparently education doesn't matter either. We all know that education doesn't beget intelligence, right? I'm thoroughly disgusted.

Even more reason to declare your alliance with the VRWC!

Evidently being a Liberal means the law doesn't apply to you. Remember the "Peace" protester who attacked the car?

I think the 86 year old ought to be locked up in a mental ward.

We're having fun in Eugene too.

When elderly people go bad. Such a shame.

In some ways, this reminds me of the caining that took place just before the American Civil War.

In this case, Charles Sumner, a Massachusetts Senator made a speach and 2 days later Preston Brooks, a congressman from South Carolina confronted Sumner and cained him senseless. In this case, however, it took Sumner 3 years to recover from the beating.

In this new case the one who was cained didn't take 3 years to recover, but it does show how intolerant some people are to opposing viewpoints.
