What Really Matters

When it comes right down to it on election day, the only thing you should consider when you cast your vote is this:

Which candidate makes you feel that your life (your children's lives) and liberty are secure under their leadership?

Without life and liberty in place, pursuit of happiness doesn't mean diddly.

Once you know that you have the basics, you can debate and fight for the "extras" that make your life fuller and more pleasant.

So very simple. So easily overlooked.

Thanks to Sgt. Stryker for reminding me to post this.

Clearly, your priorities are in a feminine tizzy. I know from reading Andrew Sullivan that the most important issue facing this nation is GAY MARRIAGE. As a homosexual, what good does it do me to survive murderous jihadi psychopaths if I can't enjoy the same tax benefits as heterosexuals??

You have boiled it down to the basic statement. I have always thought of the two main candidates, which one would Osama vote for? There can be no other decisions made if life and liberty is threatened or totally removed.

I do think that Jeff forgets that without having life and liberty, there are no other choices to be made. They are all decided for you.

AMEN. There is much that one can weigh while pondering the choice, but ultimately it does boil down to which candidate will truely lead, and which one will follow... and whom.

Ah, David - whether or not there is a kernel of self in Jeff's comment - you didn't have your /irony button turned on!

Sorry John. You are right, I forgot to turn on the irony button. Maybe the reason was that I have problems finding it. I know it is close to the sarcasm button, but I haven't found that one either. lol
