A Letter to Lenny Kravitz

Dear Lenny,

I like two of your songs. TWO. And I like those in moderation. Heavy moderation. Heavy like Richard Nixon moderation, okay?

I'll even say that I like one of your videos. I don't mind a little bit of you parading around practically naked, pushing all your pierced pieces toward the camera (okay, only the ones that you can show on television), and you dripping wet as though you just had some seriously nasty sex....

Ahem. Sorry...

My point is, your Target commercial contains neither of those songs nor does it include any of that one video. It's an irritating ad. Whee ooooh whee oooh whee oooh, okay?

Oh, and while I'm at it, aren't you so....I dunno....what's the word I'm looking for here? Aren't you so......DONE?

Kravitz is such a tired poser, as well known for his celebrity status as any of his hit songs, the most recent of which is at least 7-8 years old.

I'm with you guys and (sorry) not with the person you linked with. He can't sell out as far as I'm concerned because he was never worthy of that type status to begin with. Did that make sense? I don't think I can name even one of his songs.

All he does is repeat himself through all his sonds... comes up with one catchy sentence and says it over and over again. Not very creative.

"Are You Gonna Go My Way" has one of the best riffs of all time. How can you people undermine Lenny Kravitz' creative genius. Listen to songs like "Again", "Dig In", "Battlefield Of Love", "Minister Of Rock 'N Roll" or even "We Want Peace" and try and tell me that this dude isn't relevant to todays music scene. He has solidified himself as a rock icon. Whether you like it or not!

Ah, no. When he tried to remake "American Woman", that's when I drew the line. He may be a 'creative genius', but he's definitely not 'good'. The Target commercial also reminds me of the video for "The Darkness" which featured all those speakers in the background. No, it's not a new thing, but they are the freshest in mind for stacking Peveys as a tall wall in the background.

Nope, Creative Genius = Genesis, Eric Clapton, The Beatles, and Peter Gabriel...but not Lenny.

No. Lenny Kravitz is of Jewish descent, but he is not a practicing Jew. I don't think that he consciously tries to appeal to fifteen year old girls. I mean he is raising one. Oh and by the way put down the bong for a second, turn your speakers up loud and listen to his cover of "American Woman" again. Not only is the cover awesome, but Lenny helped the Guess Who get more recognition.

Peaveys? Are you blind? They say Marshall all over them.

Amercan Woman was redone at the request of the people making the movie Austin Powers, it was Lenny's idea. That remake revived the career of the Guess Who.

This is a tiny blog in no man's land and obviosly the people who post here have no clue about music, can't read, can't spell and wouldn't know talent if they saw it.
