Lucky: I found gasoline for $2.25 a gallon tonight. And popcorn for 25¢.
Cheesed:
June 4, 2004 — It is perhaps a mark of Britain's proudly-worn reputation for eccentricity that one of its least-heralded yet highly dangerous sporting events sees competitors risk life and limb in the name of dairy produce. In all, 21 people were hurt during last week's annual cheese rolling race at Cooper's Hill in Gloucestershire, central England, where competitors pelt recklessly down a steep slope in pursuit of a 71 pound (32 kilogram) cheese.
Each of the four races saw around 20 men and women run — and then often roll or somersault — headlong down the hill in pursuit of the double Gloucester cheese, with many walking away bruised and bleeding.
Of the 21 injuries, five were serious, including a broken ankle, concussion and a dislocated shoulder, volunteer medical staff said.

Posted by DaGoddess at June 12, 2004 12:33 AMNow I know we're the same person.... or perhaps we're sharing a brain! I saw this story on.... shoot, was it the "Daily Show"? just last night! The GM1 didn't even wait for me to speak, he just shook his head and said "No, we're not moving to England."
Joanie, you're da best.
Oh, addendum.... as I watche these people rolling ass over teakettle down the hill, I had a "Princess Bride" moment and imagined them all yelling as they tumbled, "AS YOU WISH!"
Hehe.
It's great fun.
