Now I Know What That Burning Sensation's All About

It's really warm. It feels like summer already. At work last night, I had to step outside to get from one place to another and it felt like the perfect summer afternoon - at 4 a.m.

My sinuses are completely shot. I've had it. No, really. I'm tired of the pain and the dripping. I'm sick of the accompanying fever. The throbbing in my right cheek. This is #3 in my recent string of infections. As soon as I finish one round of antibiotics, I get one clear day and then another infection. The mold, the weather, and my sinuses are conspiring to make my life a living hell. I can't wait to move. If this continues after the move, I'll have to have the sinuses roto-rootered and that won't be pretty. I've had the surgery before. Let's just say IT HURTS LIKE HELL! The end result is worth it, though.

Since my neighbor has decided that there is no other time for him to slam things around, install carpet, and run a herd of frightened elephants through his condo, I haven't slept and found this quiz over at Mike's.

I gave in to temptation and took the damn quiz. I know I've taken it before but the result explains what that burning sensation's all about.

Of course I'm eternal! I'm Da Goddess. Sheesh! Isn't anyone paying attention?

You are a PHOENIX in your soul and your wings make a statement. Huge and born of flame, they burn with light and power and rebirth. Ashes fall from your wingtips. You are an amazingly strong person. You survive, even flourish in adversity and hardship. A firm believer in the phrase, 'Whatever doesn't kill you only makes you stronger,' you rarely fear failure. You know that any mistake you make will teach you more about yourself and allow you to 'rise from the ashes' as a still greater being. Because of this, you rarely make the same mistake twice, and are not among the most forgiving people. You're extremely powerful and wise, and are capable of fierce pride, passion, and anger. Perhaps you're this way because you were forced to survive a rough childhood. Or maybe you just have a strong grasp on reality and know that life is tough and the world is cruel, and it takes strength and independence to survive it. And independence is your strongest point - you may care for others, and even depend on them...but when it comes right down to it, the only one you need is yourself. Thus you trust your own intuition, and rely on a mind almost as brilliant as the fire of your wings to guide you.You are eternal and because you have a strong sense of who and what you are, no one can control your heart or mind, or even really influence your thinking. A symbol of rebirth and renewal, you tend to be a very spiritual person with a serious mind - never acting immature and harboring a superior disgust of those who do. Likewise, humanity's stupidity and tendency to want others to solve their problems for them frustrates you endlessly. Though you can be stubborn, outspoken, and haughty, I admire you greatly.

Dang, that much misery w/sinus infections just is NOT right. Maybe you should move to Arizona? You got a mold problem there?

I used to get terrible sinus infections, then I got his awful cold and the doctor prescribed deconamine. I started taking that on a 2x daily basis and knock wood and praise the Lord, I could breath again! Nah, I'm not a holy roller, that was just for the over the top effect *G* Seriously, nothing else had worked, claritin, seldane, flonase etc etc all useless, maybe it will work for you. I hope you feel better soon!

You'll have to tell Chuck to work around YOUR schedule. Damn him for not working and sleeping the same hours that you do!
The inconsiderate bastard!
You are RENTING your place after all; the nerve of him, thinkig he can work on HIS condo, that he BOUGHT, any time he damn well pleases.
Just trying to put a little perspective on it...

I lived in Mexico City for years. The air there is some of the finest smog in the world! I was sure my sinuses were wrecked. Returning to the States I began to suffer even more horribly from sinus infections, and I have a very deviated septum that makes for huge pressure and pain issues.

After steroid sprays and antibiotics and having a camera shoved up my nose, the doctor put me on Claritin D. Ta-dah! Haven't had a sinus infection in 3 years since! February, March and October are the worst months for allergies, and I just boost with some plain Claritin. I'm just saying...maybe it could help?
