A Beer and Two Berry Bad Dogs Later

Very long and wonderful day here.

Took Mr. Z to the Zoo, because what visit to San Diego would be complete without a trip there, right? It was a beautiful day to be out and about in Southern California and I had a great time. I think he did too.

Anyhow, after the zoo, we headed out to Pacific Beach for dinner with two very funny and exceptional people. We met up at the Green Flash in Pacific Beach. What's a Green Flash? Well...

The "Green Flash" is a rarely-viewed optical phenomenon which occurs at sunset at the instant that the upper rim of the sun is in coincidence with the horizon. The "Green Flash" is caused by a combination of optical effects called light scattering and light dispersion.

We got to the restaurant in plenty of time for the sunset...but no green flash. This time. That's okay. Mr Z treated me to a great dinner. He and the Smashes treated me to outstanding conversation. Sigh. Real live grown up people sitting together and talking. It's awesome! I should try it more often!

After dinner, we headed out in search of a bar. We ended up at Moondoggie's (most recently in the news because of MTV's Real World.) I had two of their Berry Bad Dogs and I could have easily had several more. They're smooth and refreshing. Our waitress was supposed to write down the ingredients for me, but she forgot. Oh well...just means I'll have to go back.

There are so many photos to upload....and...and...unfortunately, I'll end up doing that all on my own since someone's leaving for Chicago tomorrow afternoon. At least I'll have the next 10 pound bag of sugar* last me longer than a day. Oh...back to the photos......I was going to attempt to burn a CD with all the pics for him. Must go do that now.

Next time, someone had best make their way down here as promised. No excuses.

* Mr. Z likes a little coffee with his sugar.
