I have a post up over at 1000Words. This is the first in a series that will eventually make it up over there.
The photos are all from a single day in October.
Remember the photos I thought I lost from my son's birthday party? Well, it turned out that they weren't lost. They were hidden on the camera somehow. Now, they've been retrieved and I'm slowly getting around to editing them.
Oddly enough, the desperados from the Train Song Festival train robberies were also in attendance at the Christmas in the Park celebration recently. I promised them that I would get pics to them. I need to get busy! Once they're done, I'll post a link to the gallery and you can take a look.
In the meantime, check out some spectacular photos and the stories behind them over at 1,000 Words! I'm always intrigued by what I find there.

Posted by: Jay at January 5, 2004 08:57 AMGreat photo and great essay. Good question, "When do most people outgrow the 'wonderment' of the world?"
I haven't yet. I always "see" something that makes me wonder. "60 Minutes" had a professor from Harvard on that teaches his students to "stop and SEE" what they are looking at. His best example in the interview was, he showed a picture of the Federal Express logo. He then asked, "Can you see the arrow in the logo?"
I could, but never had until he asked the question.
That's "wonderment".
That was a great picture and essay. I'm planning on making a few submissions at 1000 words myself once I get some things organized.
Posted by: mike at January 6, 2004 06:14 AMI've posted a couple of times there myself. Always loads of fun, but you're a FAR better photographer than I am.
