Be Specific...and Merchandise Appropriately

If you're selling The Santa Clause 2, put The Santa Clause on display NEXT to the sequel. You'll sell both - quickly.

If you're providing a recipe for something, don't include vague instructions.

1 package of chocolate chips is vague. 12 ounces is specific.

1 tall can of evaporated milk is vague. 5 or 7 ounces is specific.

A pinch, to me, is specific. A package or a can is not. Those can very in size. While the pinch of something can as well, in general, a cook understands that a pinch is a modest amount, less than a teaspoon.

If you're selling all the ingredients for, let's say, fudge, and have created a display of said ingredients...include all the ingredients one would need. Forgetting sugar or vanilla is inconvenient and requires a second trip to the store for the cook.

Not a good thing on a day like today. You don't want to be mucking about with me when I'm like this.

The first "almost" batch was naughty. The second....PERFECTION!

"Need some flour..." Actually had a recipe written that way.
Had one for apple-butter, VERY specific until it got to the apples..."slice up three bushels of apples and add to ingredients...". Small bushel...Large bushel...cored...whole...skinned...sliced?
Never got that recipe to work no matter what I tried.

Joanie,
Sounds like you need a change of scenery.

Do something, girl, before you bite somebody!

Much love from the other coast.
