Or.....Making The Blogosphere A Little Smaller
I've entered into a contest with Craig over at MTPolitics. We're going to see who can lose the most weight.
While it may seem trivial to some, it's a worthwhile effort for those of us who truly would like to see a little less of ourselves.
The best part is, no matter who "wins" the contest, we're going to be helping each other become healthier individuals. This is the kind of contest I can really sink my teeth into. I only hope it's lo-cal.
May we all lose big!
Posted by DaGoddess at June 3, 2003 02:54 PMGo for it!!!
Posted by: Kevin at June 3, 2003 03:08 PMHmm. Joanie, maybe I should enter such a contest with Mad Bull, as I could definitely lose some inches around the waistline. Oh, for the days when I used to look for waist 28 inch pants!
Posted by: Dr. D. at June 3, 2003 03:26 PMCan I get in on this? I've got 25 pounds to go and need some motivation.
Posted by: Laurence Simon at June 3, 2003 03:30 PMSounds good. I'm in... I hope!
Posted by: Rae at June 3, 2003 04:01 PMGoddess, you know I love you just the way you are, but I also know you have to be happy with you.
I'll be right there with ya, watching your backside and your other sides, offering support when you need it.
It's like we can all be one big blogging support group. I like it. :)
Posted by: skits at June 3, 2003 04:37 PMI think this sounds like a great idea. I personally lost 70lbs of flab-ola last year (post baby-carryin'fat that was threatening to become permafat)...but I have slacked off on my workout routine and am gettin' soft again. I could use a good excuse to get off my butt and back to the gym...
Posted by: kelley at June 3, 2003 06:42 PMI'm so in like Flynn! (I'd say I was jumping on the bandwagon but it would overbalance and tip and everybody would fall out and there'd be concussions all around and none of us would be able to work out 'cuz we'd be too dizzy and headachy and puking on the equipment and that would be counterproductive.)
Posted by: inkgrrl at June 3, 2003 07:25 PMGood luck, I hope you win big . . .er, small - or something.
Posted by: bogie at June 4, 2003 02:44 AMFinally, something the blogosphere can be good for. If you really want to be a loser, I hope you're the biggest loser out there. Did I just say that?
Posted by: MarcL at June 4, 2003 04:44 AMGood luck, girlie... I hope you win.... errr, lose the most of all!
Posted by: Jim S at June 4, 2003 06:07 AMWoo hoo - Gonna have to sign up for sure! ;)
Posted by: Zaldor at June 4, 2003 07:46 AMMay the willpower be with you! good luck.
Posted by: sugarmama at June 4, 2003 08:03 AMI told my wife I needed to lose 20 pounds of ugly fat. You know what she said? "Have your head cut off." No respect I tell ya (adjusting my tie). I gotta lose weight though; Right now I have more chins than a Chinese dictionary! I'm so fat, I break a sweat walking from the fridge to the couch. But seriously, I went to the computer store to buy a laptop, and the clerk recommended I get a lap first. No respect, no respect at all... (adjusts tie)
Posted by: Thomas at June 4, 2003 11:25 AMwell, hats off and good luck in your "trivial matter"!
Posted by: pril at June 4, 2003 11:30 AMI'm thinking it will be by bike. Tell me what you ride these days. Bike talk is sexy stuff, indeed (I'm currently into titanium.)
Posted by: Velociman at June 4, 2003 07:13 PMBest of luck to you, Goddess! I've lost 17 lbs in about two months, and I'm hoping to lose about ten more--so I know it *can* be done!
If you like, I'll let you give me that spanking I deserve once you're down to your goal :)
Posted by: Loyal Citizen Victor at June 5, 2003 06:38 AMWhoo hoo!! You go girl :)
I put on about 15 lbs this winter...so I'm looking for a way to lose it without cutting out wine, fast food or engaging in any sort of athletic activity.
Sigh.
