Too Weird For Our Own Good

As predicted, we're sitting about three feet from each other and IMing. In my defense, I was sending him a link to a cool site* I found through one of my referrals earlier.

Been a very relaxing weekend here. Went to the Zoo Friday. Again. Hey, there's a lot to see there! In all the times we've been in the last month or so, we have yet to see EVERYTHING. We'll keep going until we've seen it all. And then we'll start all over.

Yesterday was spent hanging out. I ran down to the hospital to have my TB test read. Negative, thank you very much. I went to the store after to pick up some milk, cereal, broccoli**, and some goldfish crackers. No cereal. Fine. Then there were a few moments of abject panic when it appeared that there were no goldfish crackers either. NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO! We NEED our crackers! I finally located a small, carefully concealed rack of Pepperidge Farms products.....including six boxes of the crackers. Whew!

Anyhow, back to the day. Spense spent some quality time on the computer with his Tonka game, Freddie Fish, and Putt Putt. One thing I noticed about him, he's very much like me when he plays a game. The focus.....the movements.....that need to WIN! He may be doomed to a life of cursing inanimate objects. Call it my legacy.

At some point, we watched part of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, The Powerpuff Girls Movie, and did homework. The last homework of the school year. My kiddo rocked! He's pretty much done and it's not even due until Thursday. AND, he played with his buddies outside yesterday. We packed a lot of nothing into our weekend.

* Drew's links led me off to discover some very funny haikus.

See if you can't guess which two are my favorites there.

** Inevitably, the mere mention of this vegetable brings to mind this song:

Choppin Broccoli
By Dana Carvey

There's a lady I know
If I didn't know her
She'd be the lady I didn't know.

And my lady, she went downtown
She bought some broccoli
She brought it home.

She's chopping broccoli
Chopping broccoli
Chopping broccoli
Chopping broccoli

She's chopping broccoli
She's chopping broccoli
She's chop.. ooh!
She's chopping broccola-ah-ie!

Chop'in brocco-loco -lay -eaa -eaa -eaa--eeee
She's choppin broccoli
she choppin she choppin she choppin she choppin she choppin
ch ch ch ch ch ch ta ta ta ta the bra-co-li-i
She's choppin Brrrrraaaaiiiii
She's chop she's chop broccoli
She's choppin Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

In my search for those lyrics I was led to this site. I love homemade soap.

All rambling goodness.

I noticed that competitiveness in Little Dude, too.
I'm looking forward to when he is old enough to play headh-to-head computer games that we BOTH enjoy...he'll be a good adversary. :)

Just for the record, people, we don't IM each other to converse, we use it to send links, yo.

Much easier than saying, "Hey, check out double you double you double you dot ....."
