Specific guess as to what the following photo is?
(Note: "A flower" won't suffice if I'm showing a close up photo of a tulip.)
Is it skin off a snake?

It looks reptilian, (and I know just how much of a reptile lover you are). My guess is lizard skin...iguana! Yuck.

Well, I was going to say it looks like an extreme closeup of either snake skin or some kind of cloth (looks vaguely like a braded throw rug to me). However, the other reptilian answers make me wonder...
