I feel sick. Sick that ANYONE could do something so inhumane to an animal, let alone so many! (L.A. Times link disabled, click here for story.)
More than 90 dead tigers, including 58 cubs stuffed into freezers, were discovered at the Riverside County home of a noted animal rescuer by authorities who also uncovered a menagerie of malnourished animals roaming the property.
I don't understand how someone who purports to love animals could do this. I don't understand how this kept happening. This was a situation that had been ongoing for quite some time before it was discovered. Why didn't the guy ask for help if he was overwhelmed?
As I said when I commented over at TFG, I'd like to string this mother fucking lunatic up by his damn balls and have a few whacks at him!
And people wonder why the rest of the country is convinced California is full of crazy people.
This isn't about California anymore than anything about David Koresh was about Texas.
This is about total stupidity and cruelty. This happens all over the place. Not just with animals. It happens with children and the elderly. Hell, it was happening in Iraq.
It can happen anywhere. It can happen. It does happen. It makes me sick.
Posted by DaGoddess at April 25, 2003 11:29 PMOh my gosh, that is just awful. It makes my heart hurt.
And it has NOTHING to do with Californians, that's whacked to say that.

Posted by: gnome-girl at April 26, 2003 01:56 AMAnd this guy calls himself a rescuer?!?!
Posted by: bogie at April 26, 2003 03:37 AMAnyone who judges an entire group by the actions of one member of that group is too small minded to worry about. What I might worry about is that I may have just described the growing majority of Americans.
Posted by: Dave at April 26, 2003 05:28 AMAmen to that. It just sickens me. And yes, Dave, you are dead-on right about THAT!!
Posted by: Joni at April 26, 2003 09:37 AMWhen we all gathered around watching the asshole get his balls ripped off someone take a picture. Somewhere along the lines some people forgot that we were put here to protect these animals, not help with their destruction.
Posted by: cindy at April 26, 2003 12:07 PMi know...so damned strange. just scratching my head w/that one like WTF??!
Posted by: jianda at April 26, 2003 03:27 PMThats just terrible. I can't believe someone would do something like that. Someone needs to stuff him into a freezer. What an asshole.
Posted by: Sam at April 26, 2003 04:49 PMI'm repulsed. However, as deeply wounded as I am by this, there are some abusers of human beings out there who aren't who aren't getting the commuppance they deserve, either. either.
Posted by: Velociman at April 26, 2003 10:08 PMHEY NOW! My supremely unclear point was that it was TIGERS in California. So far, that's the only place where TIGERS were found.
Sadly, too, David Koresh was a LOT about Texas. Loony wanna-be rock star builds a cult around Southern Baptist theology, arms himself to the teeth, and builds a compound around the corner from Baylor University. That's so damn nutso Texan, I don't think it could possibly happen anywhere else.
PS Your Preview Comment thingy don't work...no way to post it.
Posted by: Scott Chaffin at April 27, 2003 08:43 AMIn Austin, TX there used to be a billboard off the I-35 highway that warned drivers about people who were THROWING KITTENS OUT THEIR WINDOW into oncoming traffic.
In San Antonio, TX some college kids were arrested for torturing a bunch of kittens by throwing them on an open pit barbecue and poking them with sticks when they tried to climb out.
This seems to be a rising problem. I even picked up a copy of an X-Men comic book last week that had animal cruelty as its theme.
I don't know what these f%cktards are thinkin', but if I ever came across one I'd gladly shoot him/her in the face.
