We knew there would be casualties from San Diego. We have such an extensive military population that it would be foolish to believe we'd get through this unscathed.
"Watersbey's father angrily blamed President Bush for his son's death."
I am sorry for any loss of life. But, I have a problem with people who blame Bush for the death of our troops. It was an accident. It could've happened in training at Camp Pendleton or anywhere else. Instead, it happened during a war to liberate a country that hasn't known true freedom in over 40 years. It was his son's choice to be there. This is one of the risks of being in the military.
Rather than being angry and blaming our president, this man should realize that his son died trying to bring change, FREEDOM, to people who have lost their families at the whim of an evil dictator.
It doesn't change the fact that a man has lost his child, but it would go a long way in easing his tormented soul.

The man is understandably upset and he is just misdirecting his hurt and anger.
His son knew and, as pril said on my site (or maybe it was me..or both of us), you have to be an idiot to NOT think that you or your son/daughter/wife/husband/brother/uncle/etc might get hurt..and gods forbid, killed while serving your country.
You're right. The man needs to grieve, but BE PROUD OF HIS SON FOR FIGHTING FOR FREEDOM.
Article I of the Code of Conduct:
I am an American, fighting in the forces which guard my country and our way of life. I am prepared to give my life in their defense.
Dad should read that and understand that this was what his son was all about. Blaming the president makes a mockery of this young man's dedication annd sacrafice.
