The heavens parted and shone a glorious light upon us. The angels sang on high.
I actually have the Christmas tree up.
We still need to decorate it.....but, the tree is up. That's a major accomplishment for us. Major. We didn't do a tree last year.
I spent my rainy Friday morning in a Kindergarten classroom amongst NINETEEN 5 and 6 year olds (one was absent).....making gingerbread houses and eating every sugary thing in sight. Strangely, they were all well-behaved (except Grant, who is cute as can be, but possessed by the devil himself.) Of course, it was also someone's birthday and mom brought cupcakes. Um....that was a bad move! It would have been more prudent to have brought in a meat and cheese platter. Needless to say, my son was not interested in lunch or a snack until 3pm.
I dropped Little Dude's gingerbread house off at his dad's, along with some drawings and other items. For the most part, we've managed to split the kid's school projects up nicely between ourselves. I kept the card Spense made us. It was addressed to both of us.....sigh. Spense told me that he didn't feel like making TWO cards. I do believe we are the only split family in the entire class.
Oh. The tree. I need to lasso my boy and bring him in so that he can decorate the tree while I make dinner. Slave labor is a good thing!

Make that boy work........remember Santa is watching!!!
Posted by: zander at December 20, 2002 05:29 PMWith all those 5 and 6 year olds you must have felt right at home..a big kid amongst kids. ;)
You know, my niece and nephew had a hard time with my divorce, wondering where the "mean lady" was going, and then seeing me with various other females. Now my brother is also going through a divorce and my nephew asked him if there was going to be a 'new girl moving in' to take mommy's place... *sigh* poor kids. They're having a hard enough time with Christmas at 2 places (Mommy, in her *ahem* infinite wisdom, broke the news 2 weeks before Xmas...the twit, way to make it a Xmas to remember for the kids...).
I'm glad I didnt have kids to put thru the divorce...well, actually if I did, I KNOW I would've got full custody..but that's a whole nudder story...
Hey, I've got MY tree up too. I didn't decorate it either, I hate that stuff, I got Natty to do it...
