Medical Advice Advice

Da Goddess @ 07:12

I don’t know who needs to hear this (I’m lying because I know everyone needs to hear this), but take medical advice ONLY from people who have been to medical and/or nursing school and who have passed rigorous testing and received a license to practice.

DON’T INGEST OR INJECT BLEACH

, FFS!

This message brought to you by the committee who wants you to live.

P.S. I’ll give it a go if trump goes first and lives to tell the tale…without any medical intervention.

If you need a handy reminder of this advice, please have a listen to Mr Nick Harvey.

  1. Or fish paralyzer. WTF is wrong with people?

  2. People blindly following a sociopathic tangerine are gullible enough to fall for anything, is my guess.

Though it’s highly unlikely, I’d like to see him charged with every death that results.

  3. Of course, Trump gave no such advice. He was speculating on possible research into invasive technologies that could be used for topical decontamination through an endotracheal tube. He was noting for instance, that there has been work in using UV light in that way, and mentioned that it might be useful to look into chemical disinfectants. This idea that he suggested that people do this is simply untrue. Go back and look at the full quote.

What he was really excited about was the possibility of using UV light — and in fact, such devices exist, and have been used (primarily outside of the US) for phototherapy of tuberculosis. Similar devices using lasers have been used for treatment of cancer.

As an aside, in the pre-antibiotic age, the use of dilute “bleach” (sodium hypochlorite) was used with success for lavage of the pleural and pericardial space in cases of pulmonary abscess and infection. The medical term is “Dakin’s solution.” The idea that Dakin’s solution might be useful in medicine is not far fetched at all, though it’s old school. In more modern times, it has been suggested for oral use; an oral rinse of 0.25% sodium hypochlorite has been shown to decrease biofilm development, aid in healing of gingivitis, and has been used as an irrigant in dental procedures.

  4. Actually, he said nothing like drinking or injecting bleach or fish flakes.

While we’re on the subject: I’m a Republican who voted for Trump once and will do so again. You can believe I’m gullible if it suits your narrative, but it is what it is.

And that’s the end of politics for me! ;)

  5. Every “idea” he has is tossed around during press conferences. Asking about using disinfectants “maybe they can be injected?” or “is that something we can do?” as treatments is very much what he said. Same with light. Same with sunlight. Same with hydroxychloroquine. It doesn’t matter where or from whom he heard a theory, he throws it out in public discussions instead of asking experts behind the scenes, getting input from those experts, which would go a long way toward presenting actual information instead of wild conjecture.

“And then I see the disinfectant where it knocks it out in a minute — one minute — and is there a way we can do something like that by injection inside, or almost a cleaning?” he asked. “Because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs, so it would be interesting to check that.”

That’s an exact quote from the presser.

Anyone in charge of anything — especially a leader of a nation — should talk through theoretical and practical solutions with knowledgeable advisors, get rid of crackpot solutions, & focus on presenting medically sound information to the people.

He doesn’t do that. He never has. Instead, he rambles on about anything and everything he thinks will sound like he knows what he’s talking about. Time and time again, he stands at the podium and bathers on unintelligibly and creates confusion for those listening, watching, reporting.

That’s not a leader. That’s a confused man who just HAS to hear himself talk.

And this is more than a political party issue. This goes to protecting the people of this nation & giving them accurate and sound advice FROM THE EXPERTS.

As a reasonably intelligent person, it’s an insult to the basic understanding of how to stay safe. The more he talks, it seems the dumber he thinks we are. As an RN, what comes out of his mouth is dangerous.

I’ve been a registered Republican, a registered Democrat, and a registered Independent. I wouldn’t & didn’t vote for him and never would vote for him. I’d rather vote for a rabid raccoon with a brain injury than support a guy who’s filed for bankruptcy 6 times; hosted a reality show; openly & repeatedly demeaned women, the developmentally disabled, the physically disabled; and who has never held public office in his life. There comes a time when you have to say “fuck the party, this is the wrong person to elect into office!”

Additionally, when you read through transcripts or watched videos of his speeches, you get the idea that there is something very, very wrong with this man. Psychologically, there are problems. Physically, there are problems. Emotionally, there are problems. Developmentally, there are problems. This is NOT someone I’d trust with $5 of money, my children, or let alone the well-being — the very HEALTH — of a nation.

Go back and watch the presser with the ramble about light and disinfectant. He’s not stating fact. He’s babbling & seeking approval for his ideas. Instead of sticking to facts, he starts grasping for straws based on rejected ideas and hoping he’s sounding like he knows something. He could do that in the comfort of his own home. Our country needs more than that. We deserve better than that.

  6. Pam, you’re a smart woman. Vote for whomever you want…voting is important. But please think about what trump stands for, what he’s capable of, and, more importantly, what he’s NOT capable of doing. First and foremost, he is NOT capable of putting the citizens of this country first. He doesn’t seem to care if many of us die, lose our jobs, lose our homes, or even have money to put food on our tables.

There are other people who are more than capable of putting the citizens of the United States of America first. You don’t have to like them, you just have to vote them into office so they can do the job of working FOR us and not for themselves.

  7. Everything you just wrote? I feel the exact opposite.

I don’t wish to fall out with you over this, so I’ll leave it there.
