Super Tuesday Two-Fer Bonus
Just to help us all keep our minds off the last minute political bitching and back-biting, I’m sharing music I love.
First up, is Robert Ward. I love this song!
Then, Eli “Paperboy” Reed, who blew me away a few years ago at Doheny Blues Festival, gets down with Darryl Hall.
Now the ladies take a turn! E.G. Kight – I love this song. It’s not the one I wanted but it’s good. (I wanted ” Happy With The One I Got Now“.)
Then we let Susan Tedeschi rock us on out of here and into a better frame of mind!
That Paperboy Reed piece was excellent! He’s got some serious soul in his bones.

I love Eli! He sings from his toes on up.

Shit-Oh-Dear! I just spent a little time on youtube checking out more of his stuff. I’m hooked!!! Got a serious Motown vibe happening for sure! Absolutely love it (I’m still in the afterglow of the Temps and Tops I saw a short time ago) and this does a nice job of scratching a portion of that itch…I owe you for this one.

Try James Hunter, too. He’s more…Bobby Darin-ish, but not really, if that makes sense.
I’ve had a healthy dose of Joe today, which isn’t something I do very often anymore. But I threw all his albums into my rotation on the computer and had a lot of it come up (Joe, Lyle Lovett, Lee Roy Parnell, Nick Moss, John Juke Logan, and Alfie Smith were the most played – funny because I only have one Alfie album). It was kind of nice to hear the old stuff again, mixed with the new. I can take more of the new in small bits but not all at once the way I could with his early albums
