He was certainly a strong voice and sometimes he was even RIGHT!

I hope someday that others miss me as much as so many miss him.

  4. Two weekends ago, I had the distinct honor and pleasure of dining n’ drinking with some of those who know him best. Was at this year’s Texas Blown Star roundup, this time at the Y.O. Resort Hotel, in Kerrville, TX.

A toast was duly raised to him. I don’t think mine was the only tear, either.

We agreed that the two vacancies which have most gutted the Blogosphere, were the passing of Rob and the retirement of DuToit.

But the real stake in the heart was people thinking that crap like Facebook and such were “blogs” and thundering off to them in lemmingish herds.

They’ll never now what, or who, they missed.

  5. Were you there with Recondo and Georgia?

Yes, there are plenty of people who will never know what they missed, but as we’ve all come to understand, the golden age of blogging really was a while back. The blogosphere grew so rapidly by people who were more interested in money than actually saying something.

The nice thing is that Rob’s blog is still there. I still send people to read him.

  7. Depends on when it is. Georgia tried to talk me into going this year, but I was already on my way to Portland and money was non-existent.
