My Dragon

No, I didn’t go all Helen Reddy and sing him “Candle on the Water”. I liked this dragon and wanted him to stick around. Get it? Stick around?

  5. You’ve really got amazing talent. A lot of your work evokes some of the famous photographers of the past. You’ve got some classics.

Are there any particular photographers that you feel you’re influenced by?

  7. Erin, thanks.

Marcie, thank you much, but as far as being influenced, I guess I’d have to say there are a lot of photographers I admire. Any single artist, though, that influence doesn’t generally come into play that I am aware of. Do I stop and think about the shot before I take it? Usually. Then there are the times I shoot instinctually, if that makes sense.

So, what photographers do I admire? Ansel Adams, naturally. Edward Weston. Dick Waterman. William Eggleston. Margaret Bourke-White. Imogen Cunningham. Some of the usual suspects. Waterman is one of those most people haven’t heard of, but should check out.

Glad to hear you didn’t opt for the Helen Reddy.

Deb, we don’t sing aloud here. Only in our heads. It’s for the greater good.
