PROMPTuesday #46 – Those Kids

DaGoddess @ 02:30

is on Thursday this week — for me, anyway. I’ve been meaning to catch up and now, well, here it is.

They were so cute together on Sunday. Here it is, already Thursday and I’m still smiling over the way they acted with each other.

Little Dude commented yesterday that he likes his sister and that she’s a good big sister. He doesn’t always say that, but I think they’re getting to the ages where they’re actually able to be friendly and not just interact like siblings. It’s really quite nice to see that friendliness in action.

Sometimes I look at photos of them and they take my breath away. Or I see one or both of them and my heart beats a little faster at how perfectly THEM they are. It’s what every parent hopes for and what some of us are lucky enough to witness.

I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m far more blessed than I ever believed I would be. When I look at my children, yes, I see the proof of God’s great love and His infinite wisdom in bringing Mojo and LD into not just my life, but into my whole family’s lives. They really have given us all something special that no one else on earth will experience in the exact same way, but that many mothers and fathers will understand.

Thank you, Lord. You were right. You always are. I should never doubt You, never question. The lessons are always there, hidden in plain sight. Thank you.

The Kids

I wish I had a better photo of the two kids together, but I don’t. Perhaps this weekend…

  3. It must be a great feeling to see two great young people and realize you had a lot to do with them being that way. They’re good kids. You did well!

  4. I wish I could take all the credit, but my sister and brother-in-law have put in some serious work. The rest of my family has, too.

  5. There is just no way to look at children and not see God, is there?

  6. You’re absolutely right on that one! Except when they’re in one of THOSE moods. Then it’s really damn easy to see the work of goblins. Of course, a split second later, they’re damn near angelic again. That’s why God made them so adorable.

  7. That look on LD’s face says it all. And I really love what Cheri said…it’s so absolutely true.

  8. Don’t you love those moments, Deb, when the kids seem absolutely at peace?

  9. I like this photo, and I love the post. I’m three years older than my brother and we’re very good friends.

Your daughter’s hand is so delicate. Pretty.

  10. As delicate as it is, her hand is also strong and sure. She’s a wonder, that one.
